1. Der FC Union Berlin ist ein professioneller deutscher Fußballverein mit Sitz in Köpenick, Berlin.

Die Ursprünge des Vereins lassen sich bis ins Jahr 1906 zurückverfolgen, als sein Vorgänger FC Olympia Oberschöneweide gegründet wurde. Während des Kalten Krieges hatte Union seinen Sitz in Ostberlin und schloss sich nach der Wiedervereinigung von Stadt und Land 1990 der deutschen Liga-Struktur an.Von 2009 bis 2019 traten sie in der 2. Bundesliga, die zweite Liga des deutschen Fußballs. 2019 gewann Union zum ersten Mal in der Vereinsgeschichte den Aufstieg in die Bundesliga. Im Jahr 2021 wurde Union Siebter in der Liga, um sich für die erste UEFA Europa Conference League zu qualifizieren. 2022 qualifizierte sich der Verein mit dem fünften Platz für die UEFA Europa League. In der folgenden Saison qualifizierte sich der Verein zum ersten Mal in seiner Geschichte für die Champions League, indem er in der Bundesliga Vierter wurde.

Die Heimspielstätte des Vereins ist das Stadion An der Alten Försterei. Es ist das zweitgrößte in der deutschen Hauptstadt und seit seiner Eröffnung im Jahr 1920 die Heimat von Union Berlin und seinen Vorläufern. Im Stadion finden auch Konzerte und das jährliche Weihnachtssingen statt Weihnachtslieder Veranstaltung.

Ab 2022 hat Union Berlin 45.000 offizielle Mitglieder. Der Verein ist bekannt für seine begeisterte und kreative Fangemeinde und seinen Gesang "Eisern Union".
